About Oregon Midwifery Foundation
Oregon Midwifery Foundation was founded as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 1999. Our mission has always been to support Direct Entry Midwifery. As outlined in our organizational documents, we do this in a number of ways. The first is through public education on midwifery services, which you can read more about here.
We have also supported certification and licensure for midwives. To improve public access to midwifery care, we have also supported Oregon Midwives. This has happened through scholarships, grants, and donations of equipment when they are starting up or are in need.
To meet our objectives we participate in fundraising activities. As a charitable organization, donations to us are tax deductible. The simplest way to give is through the PayPal Giving Fund page we have set up for our organization. You’ll receive your receipt through PayPal and every cent comes to us.
To accomplish our vision, our organization is one that changes as midwifery changes. We are currently undergoing review and possible revision of our guiding documents as well as our board members.
